Camera Zoom but still no multi-tasking or background... iPhone 4.0 on 3G

iPhone 4.0 beta two on 3G has added 5x digital zoom to its standard camera features, but is missing the save option.  Some speculate it is a deliberate ploy not to show off features in advance, which includes the built-in screen capture option.

iPhone mail now comes with enhanced icons.

This iPhone 4.0 beta 2 version is very heavy, taking up about 1GB of storage. Loaded with debugging code it makes the 3G with just 128MB of RAM very sluggish. The larger OS file size can also be attributed to the new features such as spell check and code enhancements.

USB plug-and-play is also disabled. For the iPhone 4.0 beta two to be recognized when you plug it into your development environment she must be rebooted.  This involves a hard reboot since the shut down slider is also missing in this release.

On a brighter note, the overall the OS performs very well. The spell check feature works great and is intuitive and additional enhancements made to Safari with new slide-up is features improve usability.
