It has been leaked by World of Apple that website Nowhere Else says Apple will release a new MacBook Pro model February 9th featuring the Intel Core i7.
Steve Hemmerstoffer for Nowhere Else writes that, “An anonymous source who works for Apple just tell me that the new MacBook Pro line will be launched tomorrow”.
A GeekBench report posted on February 4, 2010 shows a MacBook Pro with a Core i7 M 620 clocked at 2.66GHz running an unreleased build of Mac OS X 10.6.2 scoring an impressive 5260.
I think there is a mistype on the Core i7 specification, there is no core 620. There is however a i7-920 that runs at 2.66 GHz. The MacRumors MacBookPro 6,1 i7 Benchmark post.
Intel's Core i7 is a brilliantly fast multi-core processors incorporating some of Intel's best engineering ideas including QuickPath interconnect (up to 25.6 GB/sec), integrated memory controller (DDR3 at 1066 MHz), Turbo Boost and Hyper-Threading technology.
3.06 GHz, 2.93 GHz, and 2.66 GHz core speed
8 processing threads with Intel® HT technology
8 MB of Intel® Smart Cache
3 Channels of DDR3 1066 MHz memory
If Apple MacbookPros come featured with 4 core processing and 8MB of cache, that would be a sufficient enough upgrade to existing MBPro 1,1 users who are living with just a 2 core, 2MB of cache.
