Apple hates Linksys? By - Abinyah Walker

Apple Airport Extreme will not expand a Linksys network.
Purchased an apple airport express because the technology impressed me. I can print and play music wireless over multicast and USB connections built into the unit. It impressed me enough that I decided to buy a second unit. In my excited appreciation for another great Apple product I figured I'd go for an airport extreme. This time I'll build a wireless NAS, (see my earlier post "Low Cost NAS Solutions") to offload storage from my servers and laptops. Brilliant idea, and all wirelessly too. Three hours of configurations later, my wife wondering what happened to me, and still no could not properly connect the Airport Extreme to my Linksys network. My Airport Express worked fine, still playing music through my wireless speakers but the Extreme was a no-show. Was about to send the new unit back to the Apple Store when I decided to call tech support. They proceed to walk me through my wireless setup and when we mensioned my Internet router was connected to my Linksys router. What, how can that be, Apple Extreme does not support Linksys routers? They are both use wireless 802.11g standards, so what is the issue? And this a where the story gets weird. They tell me there is a conflict over the Wireless N standard. This was a flashback to the dial-up modem wars of the 54K. How can this be happening again! Linksys and Apple are at war and the victim is my genius foid again!
